The history of the hotel can be traced back till 1927. The name of the hotel refers to the "Halterner Stausee" which is opposite. The hotel built by the industrialist Rohling in 1927 already existed 3 years before the Halterner Stausee was flooded. For many decades the "Hotel-Restaurant Seehof" has been very popular. However, standard and equipment were no longer up to date and thus could not correspond any longer to the claims of a modern gastronomy.

In 1997 the industrialist Klaus Kandaouroff bought the "Hotel Seehof".
The old "Hotel Seehof" was completely renovated and partly new designed. At the same time a new hotel building was planned and realized. This new building is very unique for this region. The aim was to create a wellness and conference hotel without losing the popularity as destination for day and weekend guests. The old and the new building were connected by an architecturally designed round glass tower where the reception and lobby are located.

Today the "Hotel Seehof" is a popular conference and wellness hotel, not only known within the Halterner region. Nevertheless the "Hotel Seehof" is still an attractive destination in the wonderful "Westruper Heide".
